News Star: Johnson lands Citizens United endorsement in 4th District race
State Rep. Mike Johnson has landed the endorsement and accompanying contribution of the conservative Citizens United in his bid for the 4th Congressional District seat.
Johnson, R-Benton, is among eight candidates vying for the seat. Incumbent Congressman John Fleming, R-Minden, is giving up the seat to run for the U.S. Senate.
“Mike Johnson is the clear conservative candidate in this primary election,” said J.T. Mastranadi, vice president for governmental affairs at Citizens United. “He’s a principled conservative and has a proven record to stand on.
“The bottom line is that Mike Johnson is a courageous, full-spectrum conservative who I’m proud to stand with.”
With the endorsements comes a $2,500 campaign contribution from the Citizens United Political Victory Fund.
The election is Nov. 8.
