Citizens United is known for triggering the lawsuit that led to the Supreme Court case that dramatically changed the interpretation of the McCain-Feingold campaign-finance-reform law, eliminating restrictions on corporations and unions running political ads independently from candidates and their campaigns. The Republicans running for this seat include Allen and conservative activist Jamie Radtke.
